Pre-Conference Admissions Leadership Workshop: Tuesday, July 11
Relationships that Inspire: Coaching for Change, Learning and Leadership

The evolution from a "roadrunner" to an associate, director, or dean comes with a number of challenges. If you are at the point in your admission career where you are supervising others, reporting to higher levels of administration, and collaborating with others on and off campus, your leadership capabilities are essential to success.  By establishing deep emotional connections with others, we can build and nurture positive, resonant relationships at work which then trigger greater levels of effectiveness in teams, departments, and organizations.  Dr. Ellen Van Oosten will share the latest research from neuroscience that illuminates the essential role of emotional intelligence (EI) and positive emotions in effective relationships.  She will discuss how to foster nurturing relationships that inspire others to learn, lead, collaborate, and adapt. In addition to improving leadership abilities, attendees will connect with a cohort of advancing admission professionals and have the opportunity to network with high school counselors attending the International College Counseling 101 through lunch and an optional dinner event. Open to admission professionals with 5+ years of experience, this workshop is practical, affordable, and productive. Interested members are asked to complete a brief online form and submit their résumé by Monday, April 17th. See more detailed information here.
