So you've never been to an OACAC Conference... or maybe you have, but not sure what to think about Tampa Bay, well we can think of a lot of reasons you'll want to be there this summer... but here are the Top Ten.

10. Catch Up with Trends

With all of the sessions and updates, make sure to that you aren’t hitting the snooze button on your alarm. Some of the best in the business will be presenting this year at OACAC, so take advantage of these opportunities and learn all that you can!


9. Major League Baseball

Love America’s pastime? Make sure to catch the Tampa BayRays when they play against the Kansas City Royals in Tampa during OACAC!


8. Plan College Visits

Constantly battling time zones when it comes to scheduling college visits? Take advantage of the college fair and high school fair to begin getting schools on your fall calendar!


7. Be Inspired

Great ideas begin at OACAC – make sure to listen and learn, ask questions, get involved, and most importantly, let the conference inspire you to return back to your school with exciting and innovative new ideas.

With sunshine 361 days per year, you better bring some sunscreen and bathing suit – catch some rays and waves along the approximately 35 miles of white sand beaches. Notable hot spots include Caladesi Island State Park, Fort DeSoto Park, and Clearwater Beach.

Foodie? You’re going to love the variety in Tampa! Try the Columbia Restaurant – the oldest restaurant in the state of Florida – opened in 1905, the landmark restaurant takes up an entire city block in historic Ybor City. Entertainment includes Spanish Flamenco dance performances nightly, Monday through Saturday. Want wine? Try Bern’s Steak House – with a wine collection of about 6,500 labels and a working wine cellar that holds about 90,000 bottles. Something different? BuzzFeed just named the local Taco Bus as one of the most popular food trucks in America!

The Tampa area is home to over 25 universities and colleges, and 138,000 students – get to know some of them, including our hosts, the University of South Florida, the University of Tampa, and Eckerd College.

New to the business? Or new to a region? Use the OACAC Conference to network and mingle with those who you may be working closely with in the upcoming year.
