The Department of Homeland Security has proposed a new rule that would request social media user identifications from all visa applicants. NACAC is concerned about the impact this collection could have on international students and the infringement upon individuals’ freedom of speech this proposal suggests. Join in sharing your concerns with the Department of Homeland Security by completing an action alert to submit comments to the Federal Register.

September 2019
The Task Force on Standardized Admission Testing for International and US Students has been formed. Read more about it here.
 


  1. Spearheaded the International ACAC Ad Hoc Committee on International Admissions Testing 

  2. Advanced a successful motion at the NACAC 2018 Conference proposing that the NACAC Board create a commission on testing to examine testing inequalities and barriers to access for international students and US citizens residing outside the United States.

  3. Launched Chatter that Matters, a way to bring attention to stories relevant to international tertiary education.

  4. Drafted an extensive statement for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for International Students in the UK that was referenced in the parliamentary report. 

  5. Assisted in the planning of multiple International ACAC Regional Institutes.

  6. Began the development of regional networks, the first of which has been created in Latin America.

  7. Sent multiple A&O members to NACAC’s Advocacy Day.

  8. Worked to develop relationships with international organizations including the British Council, BUILA, Universities UK, Study Canada, NAFSA, IIE, and EducationUSA
