2018 Leadership Workshop
Communicating Your Story: The Power of You

Created and led by Dr. Michelle K. Johnston, Professor of Management, Loyola University
in partnership with the International ACAC Professional Development Committee.

There has never been a more important time for leadership and collaboration in education. If you are a mid-level professional (5-7 years' experience), this session represents an exciting opportunity for you to reflect on how your communication preferences impact your leadership experience. Building on the success of last year’s workshop for admission members, this year’s session expands participation to include high school and independent counselors. This pre-conference workshop provides a specialized professional development opportunity, while also making a growing conference size feel small, allowing for the networking and information sharing for which International ACAC is best known. Discover how your story contributes to the group dialogue on leadership in our field. The Leadership Workshop will take place on Tuesday, July 10th, immediately before the 2018 International ACAC Annual Conference.

Within the Leadership Workshop, participants will:

• Learn their communication preference style and how to interpret strengths and challenges
• Understand the power of their story and how to make compassionate connections at work
• Discuss how to improve leadership and performance through more effective communication

This workshop is open to International ACAC members who will be attending the Conference*. To strive for an inclusive cohort, geographical, institutional, and membership diversity will be considered, with no more than one participant per institution. The workshop fee is $75. Registration is limited so interested members are asked to complete an application and submit their resume by Monday, April 9th. **Deadline extended to May 7th for admissions members already confirmed to attend the Conference!  Priority will be given to participants who have not previously attended the workshop.
