Reporting to the Chair, First Year, and working under the direction of the Associate Director, Engineering Student Recruitment and Retention (ESRRO), the Engineering Recruitment and Communications Officer develops and implements high quality, innovative and effective multi-channel communication to advance the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering’s student recruitment and enrolment goals. The incumbent will plan, write, produce, and execute compelling marketing materials across print, online, social media, and video platforms for prospective student, applicant and influencer (i.e. counsellors and educators) audiences. Specific duties include managing the unit’s prospect and applicant database (CRM), development of timely email templates and workflows to segmented groups, the organization of social media and other online activities, the maintenance and on-going development of the unit’s web site for prospective students, and in partnership with Admissions, the First Year Office, and the Engineering Strategic Communications Office, the development of annual admissions and recruitment print collateral.

HKIS school counselors provide a comprehensive, developmental guidance program addressing the academic, career and personal/social development of all students. HKIS has eight high school counselors. The high school model is purposely built to meet the needs of students through a community structure. We have four communities (two counselors in each) and each community has roughly 50 students per/grade level. The two counselors work together to advise, advocate and support their community students through social, emotional and academic avenues in addition to guiding students through transition into high school/university and the college process.

The University Relations Coordinator works with Loyola University’s Global Centers in Rome and Vietnam, and performs duties related to recruitment, retention, advising, and evaluation for Loyola and visiting students interested in studying abroad at the Global Centers.
